Biography
I am Houssem Menhour, currently doing a MSc in Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Oulu, with a focus on AI. Prior to that, I worked for 2+ years as a Computer Vision Engineer at Visiomex where I built industrial quality control and automation systems.
I program mostly in C++, C# and Python. And I would love to combine my studies with a new professional challenge in a CV/ML related role.
This is a space where I (plan to) write about interesting projects, topics and random thoughts.

Responsibilities:
- Designed, developed and deployed Computer Vision based quality control solutions for the automotive, home appliances and textile industries.
- Lead the R&D efforts for the company’s first 3D inspection solution using laser profiling technique and a robotic arm achieving a scanning resolution of <100µm.
- Developed our first deep learning solution for anomaly detection (CAE, PaDiM), and deployed it for defect detection in steel sheets.
- Developed internal tools for logging, data aggregation and analytics.
- Optimized and modernized the company’s old code base and helped with DevOps integration.

As an intern at the Image Processing Laboratory, I helped with and contributed to ongoing research on:
- Computer Vision for Autonomous Driving Vehicles.

A Students’ Club working on improving the use of English as a language of instruction, bringing together university and industry, and show students new horizons and new approaches towards the World. While in the club I:
- Designed and managed a WordPress website for the club’s activities and news.
- Organized successful events with student project presentations and speakers from companies like Microsoft and Schlumberger.
